Finally got down to coloring this piece. This illustration was originally one of the three drawings I submitted for the OIC White Frames mini exhibition waaaay back a year ago.
It's a slightly surreal take on All Souls' Day when the dead come back to Earth to visit. Here they are being ferried by a giant mechanical construct, each soul housed in a red lantern, as they are taken through town in the middle of a festival parade.
A Martial Arts or "Wu Xia" inspired illustration of a duel over waterfalls. I've always loved the Wu Xia genre having grown up in the Tsui Hark era :)
I've always held a love for superheroes with wings (not so much bat wings though) and Hawkman was an early favorite.
